Healing is not hard, it's uncomfortable. It forces you to face the deepest, darkest, most hidden parts of yourself that you neglected for so long. Healing forces you to look at your shadow, the part of you that you left behind as you moved through life instead of embracing it. Healing teaches you to become one with the part of yourself that you purposefully avoid.
Healing is far from easy, but it's not hard. Scary? Most definitely. Healing is arguably the scariest thing you'll do in this life...making the choice to face yourself is terrifying especially when you have no clue what will be found, but one thing I will promise is once you consciously heal, you realize you can't run from Truth. Truth WILL ALWAYS find you and the more you fight, the harder and more aggressively Truth hits you in the face.
Healing requires accountability as it illuminates your role in past situations. But what's after this acknowledgment?
Forgiveness. You forgive yourself. Forgiving others presents its own challenges, but to recognize you are not a victim and ended up in situations because you didn't see your worth, didn't respect yourself, and chose not to enforce boundaries will leave you humbled. Making the choice to forgive yourself is extremely uncomfortable...you're left with a list of questions that require you to dig even deeper and journey into your most hidden self to find the answer.
At times, healing is frustrating or overwhelming because now you have more questions than answers, but that's okay. One of the main lessons you learn on this journey is that when you stop looking and instead seek, what you've been looking for finds you in perfect timing.
But the most rewarding part of this journey is that you learn to love yourself without condition and soon you're able to share that love with others.
